Course Outline:

This is a special topics course in the era of COVID that will cover selected topics in advanced quantum mechanics. For this quarter the primary focus will
be on quantum computing and quantum information.
A broad list of topics includes:

There is an information flier available here. This quarter we will also use ED accessible through Canvas as a tool for further discussion of the course material.

In terms of course administration, there will be regular problem sets (~60%) and a final project or exam (~40%).

References:

There are many good texts on quantum mechanics. Here are a few that cover the basics:

Principles of Quantum Mechanics by R. Shankar,

Quantum Computation and Quantum Information by M. Nielsen and I. Chuang,

Introduction to Quantum Mechanics by D. Griffiths.

Around the topics of quantum information and quantum computation, there are many recent references. Classic notes by
Preskill can be found here. There are undoubtedly many more texts and online lecture notes that might be useful.
