Physics 342 Graduate Quantum Mechanics II
Location & Time: KPTC 120, T-Th
11-12:20; first two weeks are zoom!
Office Hours: T 4-5 (Sav) and W 2-3 (Nina)
Graders: Nina Coyle, Aurora Ireland, Lavanya Taneja
Final: Tuesday March 15 10-12
Course Outline:
This is the second quarter
of a two quarter sequence covering graduate quantum
mechanics. It is
aimed primarily at first year graduate students (and perhaps a few
adventurous sufficiently
advanced undergraduates).
This quarter will be a
continuation of our exploration of foundational topics in quantum
mechanics. A
partial list of topics covered in the two quarter sequence
includes:
- Principles of Quantization
- Symmetry
- Quantum Information & Computation
- Angular Momentum & Spin
- Perturbation Theory
- Path-integrals
In terms of course administration, there will be regular problem
sets and some examinations.
See the following link for information on the first
quarter.

There are many good texts on
quantum mechanics. Many of them now seem a little dated but here
are a few that might
be worth perusing.
